Stout.
This item is really rigid when mounted. I think you could lift up the bike with it, unlike a previous aluminum unit that failed after 40 miles of use on a dirt road. I had to bend the tabs on the bar mounts slightly to get it to fit the mounting bar properly. No biggie. It is a little heavy but I would buy again.
